10 Questions for Frances Davenport ’13

Frances Davenport ’13 is from Richmond, Virginia.

What DOC Trip are you leading this fall?

I’m leading a whitewater kayaking trip at the 2nd College Grant!

What are you studying?

I am an engineering major with a minor in French.

What DOC Trip did you go on?

I did a trailwork trip near Mt. Moosilauke!

3 words that describe your first year at Dartmouth…

Exhausting. Confusing. Fun.

Why are you excited for DOC Trips 2012?

I love kayaking and being outside, and I like sharing that with other Dartmouth students.

The best or worst advice you received during your first-year at Dartmouth…

Don’t have too many expectations about what it will be like. Be open-minded and try new things!

What kind of animal would you want to be?

River otter. Or a cat.

Favorite Dartmouth memory so far?

Too many to pick one, but I really like spending time at the Moosilauke Ravine Lodge. It’s a great place to get away from campus, go for a hike, and have a delicious meal!

The one item you forgot to pack when you came to Dartmouth…

Shower flip-flops.

Your ideal Saturday afternoon at Dartmouth…

Being outside, especially on the Connecticut River – Hanging out with friends and not having to do work.
