Hey everybody!

Not that I’m counting, but there are officially just 56 days until first-year students arrive on campus! I don’t know about you, but I am pumped up!

Dartmouth College… famous for fine first-years.

As we get ready for masses of beautiful first-year students to descend on Hanover, I wanted to give you a few brief updates on some things you can look forward to over the course of the next 8 weeks.

First, trip assignments! In just a few short days, you should be receiving some information about the trip to which you’ve been assigned! This includes both your trip type as well as your trip section (which lets you know what dates your trip will be). If you have any questions about your trip assignment, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

Next, new blog series!!! Over the next few weeks I will be posting tons of stories from many of our volunteers, in order to help you get a sense of the myriad different folks who have offered their time to the Trips program this year. We will be running two different blog series: Volunteer Profiles and Voices of Trips.

Volunteer Profiles are exactly what they sound like – brief profiles of our Trips volunteers so you can learn a little bit about the awesome people volunteering for the program!

Voices of Trips posts feature stories of Dartmouth students’ and alums’ experiences with First-Year Trips, to help you get a feel for what Trips was like for them (and what it might be like for you).

As always, if you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us! And keep an eye on this blog, as it will be active throughout the summer (and will hopefully help you answer some of those questions).

Yours truly,

Jamie Mercado ’15
