Raphael Hviding ’18 is from Washington, D.C.

What is your role for Trips 2015?

I am leading Adventure Quest.

What do you like to study?

Physics, Astronomy, Math

If you went on a DOC Trip, which trip did you go on?

Hiking 1!

What are 3 words that describe your first year at Dartmouth?

Exhilarating, fulfilling, friends.

What are you looking forward to for Trips 2015?

Getting to know my trippees and adventuring through the NH wilderness on our adventure quest!

What were you most nervous or scared about before your own first-year trip (or if you didn’t go on a trip, before the start of your time at Dartmouth)?

I was very scared about sleeping adjacent to other people and put in the open. It’s actually not that bad and sleeping bags are really cozy!

What is your favorite thing to eat on campus?

My stir fry chicken pesto pasta!

Tell us about a highlight of your time at Dartmouth so far.

Definitely the time I’ve spent with my close group of friends. Our adventures are too numerous to list, but our stargazing or sledding on the golf course we’re definitely some of the most fun!

What’s the most important item you forgot to pack when you came to move in?

I didn’t bring any bathing suits. It made swimming hard for the early fall.

If you could go back to the beginning of your first year here and tell yourself one thing, what would it be?

Don’t bother hanging out with the people that you feel like you need to force yourself to be with. Focus more on those you fit in with and make you feel like yourself.
