What is your role for Trips 2015?
What do you like to study?
If you went on a DOC Trip, which trip did you go on?
What are 3 words that describe your first year at Dartmouth?
whole new world
What are you looking forward to for Trips 2015?
I’m looking forward to getting to know some ’19s and learning how to mountain bike with them!
What were you most nervous or scared about before your own first-year trip (or if you didn’t go on a trip, before the start of your time at Dartmouth)?
Definitely pooping outside.
What is your favorite thing to eat on campus?
Bob Jr. w/hash brown+Hop fries (so unhealthy, but so good)
Tell us about a highlight of your time at Dartmouth so far.
One of the more recent highlights was on my Foreign Study Program in New Zealand this past winter. A group of nine of us took a long weekend to hike the Tongariro Northern Circuit, a four day hike over and around some volcanoes. One of these mountains was Mt. Doom from Lord of the Rings, so naturally we decided that each of us should be members of the fellowship, and the personalities actually matched really well. We spent the weekend making way to many LOTR references, loudly singing Bohemian Rhapsody, talking selfies at every opportunity, and trying to stay warm and dry beneath a tarp every night. I may have been concerned that I would be blown off the mountain at some points, but it was one of the happiest times of my life. #teamtarp4ever
What’s the most important item you forgot to pack when you came to move in?
My favorite winter hat (it gets cold REALLY fast).
If you could go back to the beginning of your first year here and tell yourself one thing, what would it be?
You don’t have to do everything all at once. Take the time to investigate your interests outside of the classroom, take time to be with new and old friends, take time to do absolutely nothing. Build up to a schedule where you can do the things you love, but also allow for time to try new things.
